Summer movies aren't dead: Why experts aren't panicking (yet) about this season's weak box office

"Furiosa," "The Fall Guy," and "IF" all performed far worse than May blockbusters typically do at the box office — but we shouldn't have expected much better. Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga  made headlines with its soft $25.5 million opening weekend, topping the weakest Memorial Day weekend at the box office since 1995 (excluding the pandemic-hindered 2020 and 2021 weekends).  Mad Max  diehards were disappointed by that result, and certain box   office pundits suggested the sky may be falling in Hollywood, as it’s one of several splashy May releases that didn’t set the domestic box office ablaze.   David Leitch ’s  Ryan Gosling  vehicle  The Fall Guy  kicked off the month with a  $27.7 million opening weekend ,  John Krasinski ’s family fantasy  IF  followed with $33.7 million in its first three days, and  Furiosa ’s Memorial Day competitor  The Garfield Movie  earned a cool $24 million from Friday to Sunday (adding Memorial Day Monday bumps up

General Hospital actor Johnny Wactor died in coworker's arms after shielding her: 'My heart is shattered'

In her post, Joy explained that she and Wactor spotted the thieves and “cautiously approached” them, questioned what they were doing, and asked them to leave before Wactor was shot. “Johnny was between me and the man who shot him — as I heard the shot ring into the night, he forcefully tumbled back into my arms and as I grabbed for him, I shouted, ‘Hunny you ok?’ And he only responded, ‘Nope! Shot!’” She recalled. “We toppled onto the street where I pushed my legs under him and tried to hold his body up while screaming for help and screaming at him to stay with me.” Joy stated that a Level 8 security guard named Bryan happened to pass by the scene and called 911 before beginning to help her administer first aid. “We tied my denim jacket around him to stop the bleeding and Bryan proceeded to try CPR on him,” she added. “I’m so thankful for Bryan showing up, trying with all his might to save Johnny. It was too close range, too extreme of a wound for him to surv

Bill Skarsgård to return as Pennywise on It prequel series Welcome to Derry

Max offers first look at It prequel, Welcome to Derry Director Andy Muschietti, who helmed both films, developed the project for TV, along with Barbara Muschietti, who worked on both  movies, and Jason Fuchs, who produced and acted in the second installment. King previously said in a statement, "I'm excited that the story of Derry, Maine's most  haunted city, is continuing, and I'm glad Andy Muschietti is going to be overseeing the  frightening festivities, along with a brain trust including his talented sister, Barbara. Red balloons all around!" The Muschietti siblings added, "As teenagers, we took turns reading chapters of Stephen King's It until the thick paperback fell to  pieces. It is an epic story that contains multitudes, far beyond what we could explore in our It movies. We can't wait to share the  depths of Steve's novel, in all its heart, humor, humanity and horror." Grey's Anatomy finale recap: Catherine fires half the staff

It’s a good thing Teddy was there to pitch in; with all the ORs full of burn victims, she had  to semi-operate on the first responder right there in the middle of the hallway. Seeing  Griffith’s  (Alexis Floyd) face when Teddy barked at her to pull the rib cage open was definitely a highlight.  Of course, the team saves Ruiz, but my Spidey senses flared when Ben gets in an elevator to head back out into danger and essentially tells Bailey good-bye. So help me if  Station 19  kills Ben off in a blaze of glory in their series finale.    Shonda Rhimes reveals which of her leading men she'd choose for herself Luckily, Adams (Niko Terho) works with Dorian, the gunshot-wound guy who’s been in the hospital for 54 days, to create a spreadsheet of first responders and their safety status. Not only does Bailey breathe a sigh of relief when she sees that Ben is safe, but other family members at the hospital can check on their loved ones, too.  Adams is all over the hospita
